1
Rinse the spareribs under cold water and dry lightly with paper towel.
-
2
Mix the chili powder, brown sugar, paprika, cumin, salt and pepper in a small bowl.
-
-
3
Use your clean fingers to rub the ingredients onto both sides of the spareribs. Stack the spareribs on top of each other in the metal pan. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil when all of the spareribs are prepared.
-
4
Preheat one element of the gas grill on high for three minutes. Reduce the heat to medium-low after three minutes.
-
5
Place the metal pan onto the grill on the side of the grill that is opposite the source of the heat. Close the grill.
-
6
Open the grill and check the spare ribs after 45 minutes. Open the aluminum foil and rearrange the spare ribs in the metal pan, bringing the spareribs that were on the bottom up to the top. Recover the pan and close the grill again.
-
7
Repeat step six every 45 minutes for four hours. After you have rearranged the spare ribs several times, insert the probe of the thermometer into one of the smaller sparerib pieces. Monitor the temperature of the spareribs. When the temperature reaches 175 degrees, the spareribs are sufficiently cooked. The cooking time will take approximately four hours.

Remove the pan from the grill when the spareribs are finished cooking. Slice the spareribs into serving-size pieces and serve with barbecue sauce.
