How to Clean Gym Equipment

Although staff members routinely clean gym equipment throughout the day, it is common courtesy to wipe down machines and mats after you are finished with them. Tips & Warnings
To lessen the chance of spreading germs, wipe down the equipment before and after you use it.
Pre-saturated wipes are also available, although usually at a greater cost than disinfectant spray.
Bring a cloth towel from home or use those provided at the gym. Lay it against headrests and down on mats to prevent the spread of germs.
Home equipment should be cleaned after every use as well. Regularly cleaning will prolong the life of the equipment.
It is a good practice to clean free weights, as this is often neglected by many people at the gym.
To discourage the spread of germs, you can wear fitness gloves to the gym. However, avoid touching your ears, eyes, nose or mouth with your hands, and make sure to wash your gloves regularly.
