Instructions

    • 1

Prepare the wall to be plastered. Sand away any chipped paint on the wall, fill in any cracks, and make sure there is no mold or moisture anywhere on the wall.

    • 2

Create the base coat of plaster. Mix one part Colton Plastic Cement and one part masonry sand with enough water to make the consistency runny.

    • 3

With a plaster brush, paint on a base coat of plaster about 1/8" thick. If you want a smoother surface, add more water to the plaster mix to make it more runny.

    • 4

Wait for the initial coat of plaster to dry.

    • 5

Mix another batch of plaster by following the directions on the bag of Colton Plastic Cement.

    • 6

Use a trowel to apply the final coat of plaster to the wall. Determine what texture you want the wall to have. This coat should be around 1/2" thick. You can either continue to smooth it out or leave it with the marks of your application technique if you'd like it to remain textured.

    • 7

Wait for the plaster to dry. Add another coat of plaster if you are concerned with the texture of the previous coat.
