How to Dry Ears After Swimming
It is common to find excess water in your ears after swimming. Water in the ears can be uncomfortable and harmful to your health. The Center for Disease and Prevention claims that excess water in the ear can cause it to become inflamed and even infected. Drying you ears thoroughly after swimming (and bathing) will prevent such complications such as swimmer's ear - an infection of the ear canal.

1
Dry the outer ear with a towel to remove any excess water. This will prevent even more water from making its way into the ear canal.
-
2
Tilt your head to either side and place a few drops of alcohol-based ear solution into each ear. Ear solutions that dry water trapped inside the ear can be purchased at your local drug store. If you're not sure what solution to buy, ask the pharmacist for assistance.

Keep your head still so that the solution can dry any water that may be trapped. If you do not let the solution complete its drying process it will leave water in the ear.

Tips & Warnings
If you cannot find an alcohol-based ear solution, try this alternative: Mix equal parts water and vinegar and follow the same process.
Do not attempt to dry ears with cotton swabs such as Q-tips. Placing objects into the ear will only lead to the excess water being pushed further into the ear canal.
