Instructions

    • 1

Place a piece of floral foam on the horizontal support beneath your mailbox and attach it firmly against the post. If your mailbox isn't on a post, position the floral foam on top so that it won't interfere with opening and closing the mailbox. Secure it with a piece of floral tape, if needed.

    • 2

Insert evergreen branches into the foam on each side of the mailbox.

    • 3

Insert broad-leaf tree or shrub branches into the foam and wire them to the evergreen branches.

    • 4

Insert holly or other small-leaf shrub branches into the foam and wire them to the broad-leaf branches.

    • 5

Wire the branches to the mailbox post in several places for stability. If your mailbox is attached to your house, run a piece of wire through the branches and twist the ends together underneath the mailbox.

    • 6

Slip a piece of floral wire through the loop on a plastic or resin ornament and wire it to the center of the swag. Repeat with other ornaments if desired.

    • 7

Tie a bow with the ribbon. If your mailbox is exposed to the weather, use plastic ribbon. If it's sheltered, use wired organza ribbon. Wire the bow to the swag beneath the ornament.
