Instructions

    • 1

Cut a strip of fabric the same height as the cake dummies. Glue edge of the dummy, wrapping the fabric tightly around the circumference of the polystyrene foam. Cut off the fabric length so it overlaps the starting point by a 1/2-inch. Hot glue the edge to hold it in place. Repeat with the other cake dummy.

    • 2

Place one of the cake boards on the wrong side of the fabric. You can also use thick, decorative paper to cover the cake board. Trace around the cake board on the back of the fabric or paper. Cut out the circle. Repeat the process for the other two cake boards.

    • 3

Glue the fabric or paper circle to the top of each cake board. Smooth the covering gently with your hand to remove any wrinkles.

    • 4

Attach a length of the ribbon to the edge of each cake board. Use a dab of hot glue to hold the ends of the ribbon.

    • 5

Place the largest cake board on the table. Place a ring of hot glue to the bottom of one of the cake dummies. Center it over the bottom cake board and press them together. Add another ring of hot glue to the top of the cake dummy. Center the medium-size cake board over it and press it down. Add hot glue to the second cake dummy, centering it over the medium cake board. Add the hot glue to the top of the cake dummy and center the final cake board on top of it. Allow the cupcake stand to dry before filling it with cupcakes.
