Things You'll Need:
- 2 wooden studs (24 inches long, 2 inches thick)
- Sandpaper
- Hammer
- 1-inch nails
- Wood paint
-
Step 1
Sand down the wooden studs so that all jagged edges are removed to reveal a smooth surface.
-
Step 2
Lay one of the wooden studs on a hard, flat surface, vertically. Place the second stud horizontally on top of the stud that was laid vertically. It should be about 6 to 8 inches from the top of the vertical stud.
-
Step 3
Attach the two pieces of wood together using a hammer and a 1-inch nail. You may need up to four nails to keep the wooden marker together.
-
Step 4
Paint the name of the pet and the date of birth and death to the marker. You may also add a picture of your pet if you'd like.
-
Step 5
Hammer the pet cemetery marker into the ground where the pet was buried. It should be hammered about 4 inches into the ground. If desired, add cement to the marker to keep it in place.
