How to Remove Crazy Glue From a Formica Countertop
Crazy Glue is one of the most effective multipurpose adhesives for projects of all types. Due to the nature of this compound, Crazy Glue solidifies onto surfaces and creates an incredibly strong bond, unlike most other household glues that retain their stickiness. This makes the adhesive especially challenging to remove from smooth objects such as Formica countertops, which are water-resistant plastic laminate surfaces. Fortunately, a simple cleaning method makes this task entirely practicable. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Purchase a bottle of acetone from your local market or drug store. Nail polish removers are commonly composed purely of acetone.
-
2
Make sure to work in a well-ventilated area to prevent inhaling hazardous amounts of acetone. Keep a window open if your Formica countertop is indoors.

3
Wear a pair of latex gloves to protect your hands, and pour a small amount of acetone onto a rag or a cotton pad. Wipe the affected area with the acetone until the glue begins to soften, but be careful not to get any onto the rest of the countertop, as excessive acetone may tarnish it.
-
4
Gently lift the Crazy Glue with a plastic scraper using a fair amount of pressure. Wrap the loose clumps of dried glue in a paper towel and dispose of them.
-
5
Wash the surface of the Formica countertop with an appropriate household cleaning product to remove any remnants of the glue.
