How to Convert Regular MySpace to Music MySpace

As of Oct. 2009, MySpace.com does not offer the option to convert a user's regular page to a MySpace Music account You can send a request to MySpace; upon review, the decision to convert your page is at the sole discretion of its staff. Otherwise, the best way to acquire a MySpace Music page is to sign up for one with a different email address than the one you use to log in to personal MySpace account.

Instructions

Log in to your MySpace account. Scroll to the bottom of the page to where the footer links are listed. Click on the "Help" link. A separate window will appear. In the right column, click on the blue highlighted button labeled "Contact MySpace."

Type in your email address, and choose the topic "Your account" in the Category field. Type in a subject for your message, and enter your request into the Question field. When you have finished composing your message about how you would like your personal account transferred to a MySpace Music one, click on the "Next" button. Your message will be processed and reviewed by MySpace administrators.

Log out of your page and set your browser to pull up www.myspace.com once again. As there is no guarantee your page will be converted, you can opt out of contacting MySpace entirely, and instead, register for a separate MySpace Music page. Use a second email address to register by clicking on the "Sign Up" button. Look for the section marked "Profile Types" and choose the option to register for a Musician page.

Tips & Warnings

  • MySpace does not guarantee a reply to every message it receives. The website also does not guarantee it will grant every request to convert pages. Should your request be granted, MySpace will automatically switch over your page. You will be able to continue logging in to your page using the same email address and password you used to create your personal page. The only visible difference you will see is that your page will have a MySpace Music template. If MySpace does convert your page to a MySpace Music page, you can begin adding your professional career biography, songs, and other information about your music.
