Tips & Warnings

  • Before starting the patching process, clean all areas that will be repaired with a clean cloth.

  • Be sure the patch is at least 1/2-inch larger than the size of the hole.

  • Use a pea sized portion of patching adhesive.

  • For a more secure bond, smooth the patch to the pool surface again, five minutes after the initial adhesion.

  • Do not swim in the pool for at least 12 hours after the pool has been patched to allow the area to set.

  • When patching an underwater hole, place a patch on the outside surface of the pool if the hole is accessible.

  • If you are patching a hole before your pool is set up, place a heavy object (such as a brick) over the patch while it is drying. This will help create a better bond.

  • If the patch has squared edges it could peel up from the pool surface.
