Hyperlinks, or just links, are the most essential part of any website. They allow users to navigate between pages on a site or to visit external sites without typing in a URL. Placing links on a page is one of the most fundamental tasks any Web designer can master. Once the links are placed, however, they must be checked regularly to make sure they still work.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open a web browser and visit the web page in question. Click on the hyperlinks on the page, and make sure they are still active. Make note of any inactive links.

  2. Step 2

Close the web browser and open Dreamweaver. Open the web page on which the links will be placed.

  3. Step 3

Use the cursor to highlight the text that serves as a link.

  4. Step 4

Type the updated URL in the link box in the "Properties Inspector" at the bottom of the screen.

  5. Step 5

Select "Preview in Browser" (The globe at the top of the screen) and click on the updated link in the browser to make sure the new URL works.

  6. Step 6

    Save the document.
