Braided rope bracelets are a fun accessory for all ages. Whether handing them out to your friends as gifts or keeping one for yourself, you can make a braided rope bracelet in just minutes. Their simplicity makes it a perfect craft project for kids.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tape measure
  • Scissors
  • Two yards of thin rope or cord, available at craft stores
  • Large book
  1. Step 1

Measure around your wrist with a flexible tape measure.

  2. Step 2

Cut the two yards of thin rope into six 12-inch strips.

  3. Step 3

Measure three inches from one end of the rope, and tie off the six strips at that point, leaving three inches at one end of the rope. Place the excess rope under a heavy book to keep it steady as you braid.

  4. Step 4

Divide the rope strips into three groups of two.

  5. Step 5

Braid about six inches of rope until you have three inches left at the other end.

  6. Step 6

Tie off the rope. The remaining three inches on either end are used to tie the bracelet around your wrist.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use cord or craft rope in different colors to personalize bracelets. Combine school colors, sports-team colors or a friend's favorite colors for a special gift.
