Your skin can also be perfect in winter

Winter can be a dreadful time for your skin. Dry weather and cold can make your skin feel tight and dry, which can make it easier for wrinkles to appear.

However, a proper skin care regime will ensure that your skin glows in winter.

The following steps will explain you how.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start your skin regime from inside out. By that, I mean drink plenty of liquids each day.
Whether you choose to drink water, tea or juices, be sure to drink plenty. People tend to ignore thirst more during winter, which adds to your skin being dehydrated.

Dehydrated skin loses elasticity and becomes sallow and dry.

  2. Step 2

Choose a moisturizer that is appropriate for winter. Many people have one moisturizer for the entire year, however, your skin changes with the seasons. So the moisturizer that worked during summer, may not work as well in winter.
I particularly like the Clarins range.

  3. Step 3

Moisturize daily, preferably twice a day. It is best to moisturize after the shower, as your skin will absorb the moisturizer even better.

  4. Step 4

Do not neglect your lips. They can also get dry. Protect them with a lip balm or Vaseline.
I find that an SPF 15 lip balm works best.

  5. Step 5

Your hands can also get very dry in winter. Try a winter-specific formula. One that works great is Neutrogena's Norwegian Formula.
Apply it straight after washing your hands. And avoid those hand dryers.

  6. Step 6

All else fails, try Vaseline. It is ultra-moisturizing petroleum jelly. It works especially well for your feet, especially if you put socks on right after applying it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Excessively hot water dries your skin. Use warm water instead.
