Start a new family tradition this year, by seeking out and sponsoring a family in need during the Holidays. With today’s economic crisis, there are many families out of jobs and in need of help in many ways, from food and clothes to the warmth of just knowing that someone cares. After all, the reason for the season is to be thankful for all that you do have and to give to others with compassion and an open heart. What better way to experience a fulfilling Holiday, than by sharing your Thanksgiving or Christmas bounty and festivities? This Holiday season; extend a warm, heartfelt invitation with open arms to other families in their time of need.

You don’t have to look far and wide to find a family in need in your own community, or at your fingertips on the Internet. Here are steps and suggestions on how to find and sponsor a family in need for the Holidays.

Step 1

Invite A Family In Need To Your Home For Holiday Festivities

Look within your own circle of family and friends; someone at the office that may be struggling, a neighbor or friend of the family. Invite them to your home to share your holiday gathering.
Step 2

Deliver A Holiday Dinner To A Family In Need

Your church or other churches in the area will have many suggestions as to families in need within the community. Call local charities or community organizations to find a family in need to sponsor. Offer to deliver a prepared holiday feast with all of the trimmings to them. They may appreciate the fact that it is cooked and ready for them, especially if they are having a hard time paying their electric or gas bills. Another option would be to provide them wih all of the ingredients needed for a nice holiday meal that they could prepare on their own.

Search Globally To Monitarily Sponsor a Family In Need

Google websites for global family rescue and sponsoring organizations. Sponsor a family in need by sending a monetary donation that can be used to provide food and clothes for a family in need.

Volunteer In Your Community To Help Serve A Holiday Dinner to Families In Need

Check with your local Salvation Army or Food Shelter organizations in your community. Find out how you can assist by volunteering to help cook and/or serve a holiday meal to families in need.

You can even give it as a gift to a friend: give your friend a card that says "With the money I would have used on your gift, we fed a family of four for Christmas." Thanks for posting.
