Start a new family tradition this year, by seeking out and sponsoring a family in need during the Holidays. With today’s economic crisis, there are many families out of jobs and in need of help in many ways, from food and clothes to the warmth of just knowing that someone cares. After all, the reason for the season is to be thankful for all that you do have and to give to others with compassion and an open heart. What better way to experience a fulfilling Holiday, than by sharing your Thanksgiving or Christmas bounty and festivities? This Holiday season; extend a warm, heartfelt invitation with open arms to other families in their time of need.

You don’t have to look far and wide to find a family in need in your own community, or at your fingertips on the Internet. Here are steps and suggestions on how to find and sponsor a family in need for the Holidays.

You can even give it as a gift to a friend: give your friend a card that says "With the money I would have used on your gift, we fed a family of four for Christmas." Thanks for posting.
