How to Treat Dry Skin with Nature is a quick and simple process.

How to Treat Dry Skin with Nature. Its that time of year again. Time to break out the winter coats and gloves. But also what you need to break out is a dry skin routine that will help keep your skin healthy.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Dry skin is caused by any number of issues. Misuse of moisturizers, cold, dry air and other factors. To have skin that is not dry the simplest thing you can do is learn how to moisturize properly.
Moisturizer works by trapping moisture on the skin while it is still DAMP, you see most people apply moisturizer when the skin is nice and dry, this does not help the dry skin. Right after you have toweled off from a shower rub moisturizer onto your skin, wait a few minutes then wipe the excess off, this will help out alot.

  2. Step 2

Another very common mistake is taking blistering hot showers. Though this may feel good in the winter time you need to stop it. Showers that are hot strip the skin of moisture. Also you will need to check your soap, since overuse or the wrong type of soap will strip away the natural essential oils that the skin has.

  3. Step 3

Aloe Vera is a very good product to look into buying. This natural plant extract will help your moisturizer or could even take its place. This will help to heal the skin and also keep moisture in it.

  4. Step 4

You may want to consider a milk bath as well. Just take some powdered milk and add it to some bath water, the exact mixture varies from person to person. This will help to replenish and repair your dry skin.

  5. Step 5

You will want to cover up, especially in winter. This will keep the cold, dry air from drying out your skin. Also you may want to look into putting on sunscreen even if you don't think you need it.

  6. Step 6

Finally a rather useful thing to have to treat your dry skin is a humidifier. Hook one of these things up in your room to help to moisten your skin at home.

Tips & Warnings
  • Things to avoid include the sun, over exposure to dry air, wet socks and gloves and super hot showers/baths.
