Things You'll Need:
- Hair dryer
- Hair brush
- One fresh scented dryer sheet
- Febreeze or odor neutralizing spray
- a car for the final option
-
Step 1
Start with your hair dryer on the cool setting. If yours doesn't have a cool setting, use the lowest setting. Blow dry your hair all over in a large room. The smoky smell got blown in, and you can blow it back out.
-
Step 2
Take a new, fresh smelling,, static reducing dryer sheet and press it down over the bristles of your hair brush. Push it down until most of the bristles pop through the sheet. Brush through your hair with the sheet covered hairbrush. The added bonus is that your hair will be static-free.
-
Step 3
For stubborn smoke smells, lightly spritz Febreeze or any other odor neutralizing spray onto the fabric sheet. Do not wet the sheet with the spray. Brush your hair again as in step two. Then style your hair as normal.
-
Step 4
In a pinch, I have used the old 2 and 55 method of removing smoke smell with some degree of success. Roll both of your car windows down and drive 55 mph (or the legally posted speed limit!). I usually turn on the fan in the car too, with either heat or air conditioning, depending on the season.
