Happy Holidays/Happy Hanukkah/Merry Christmas, etc...

We know we are in a rough stage in america at this time w/the economy w/loss of jobs, money, etc. This is to help you still have a good holiday. This christmas we are keeping it small as we are planning a vacation in June. So what we'd normally spend, we put away somewhere. We are getting everyone a few things so we have some things to open christmas day.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Little $ (at your own set amount)
  • That's about it! :)
  1. Step 1

First of all, set an amount you'd like to spend this holiday season altogether, or for each person. For example say there is 4 of you in a family and you are buying for three. Say you wanna spend $40/each person. That would be $120. That'd be your set amount for christmas.

  2. Step 2

Instead of going to high priced stores if you usually do, go shopping at your local Goodwill and Thrift stores. You'd be suprised how sometimes nice things are and for how much less. Example: I bought a sweater at goodwill for $4, and it was from GAP! Few other stores I suggest you shop at are Dollar General, Dollar Tree, and Family Dollar stores. I just went christmas shopping a little bit at my family dollar store yesterday and found some great deals!

  3. Step 3

At my family dollar store I bought an off-brand barbie doll called Polly for my little cousin who is 4 years old. It comes with purple shoes and purple comb and she had on a purple outfit. This is her favorite color as it's her mom's too. I bought her that along with 2 outfits she can change her into and they were all $1!! What a steal!! For her brother who is 7 years old. I bought him matchbox (off-brand of course) motorcycles. One of each color, along with a matchbox montster car that flips. All $1, except for the last one was $1.50, what a great steal on that too!

Another store suggestion if you have on near by is Ollies...they have some great deals on certain stuff too. Any discount store that is near you.

I also suggest too, use wrapping paper that you have leftover from year before, that's a money saver right there. If you don't have any....and have paper bags around, wrap it in that or any other stuff in your house. You could make it old fashioned country. Look online to do some crafts if your into that or into saving money this christmas/holiday season. Keep lookout in your local papers/malls for coupons, that helps too.
