First guide the work. Make sure that you translate every project into actionable tasks that follow the company's mission.
-
Step 2
Next organize the work. Determine the time and skills required to complete each task and assign a person and deadline to each task.
-
Step 3
Develop your staff. Make sure to talk with staff and learn their career goals. Determine how you can provide training or work assignments that will give them skills to achieve their goals and better serve your goals and be a more efficient employee.
-
Step 4
Manage their performance. Remove any and all obstacles to success. This give them to motivation to succeed because they know their management is behind them. It also allows you to document failures because there is no excuse for failure if there are no obstacles. This documentation can be valuable in disciplinary action.

Step 7
Admit your mistakes and go over what you learned from them. This will empower staff to take chances to improve their work, even if it might mean a couple minor mistakes along the way.
-
Step 8
Ensure that any criticism is in private and focused on the action not the person. you want to always criticize the action not the person so that you do not demoralize staff.
-
Step 9
Finally stay close to the action. Get updates on assignments, walk around, talk to everyone. You want to know what is going on so that you can be proactive in identifying and correcting any problems.
