Things You'll Need:
- Desire to write and earn a living at it!
-
Step 1
The first thing you'll need undoubtedly is to have enthusiasm. Get up each morning willing and ready to write. You shouldn't be in a job you do not want to make the effort therefore develop the attitude: I'm ready to get started and then once you are at your computer follow a schedule.
-
Step 2
I write for a number of persons and my favorite and one venue I believe you need to go after are persons who need bulk articles. These do not pay much however they will teach you to be a good writer as the topics are always changing and invariably different. Many of the persons own domains and simply want to have new content added to their sites in order to increase their rankings within the search engines. Since they own so many domains they will ask for all kinds of keyword combos to be included in their sites' content. This means persons are searching within the search engines using the keywords used inside of the articles. You will need to keep in mind most articles you write on the net will require you know SEO. This simply means you need to understand that keyword search phrases will be incorporated inside your article when you write it.
-
Step 3
Secondly, before I get to how to set up a schedule, a great number of individuals that requre writing services from you will expect you to understand keyword density. This simply means the number of times the person is using his or her keyword combos within the article. Again, as indicated in step two, keyword combo refers to the way other persons are searching for information within the search engines. Once the keywords are incorporated inside the content the person who owns the website where your content will be posted stands a better chance that individuals searching on those keywords will be visiting his or her site. They will expect a certain level of density with regard to the keyword combos. Therefore if they want two percent for 500 words this means the keyword combos should be used ten times in the article. Here is the equation 500 words x two percent density = 10. See: Simple--right?
-
Step 4
Okay. Now that you understand a little bit about kinds of articles you can write on the net the next thing you'll want to know is where to get the work. Bid on sites like Get A Freelancer for this type of work as it is bulk work and you can generally bid $100 for 100 articles and incorporate it with other longer term projects. You should suggest too that you require payment through Pay Pal and bill after every batch of ten or so. Do not bill after 100 or you will become disenchanted however a payment through Pay Pal every day or so of $10.00 should keep you going as the articles you write will usually be varied and interesting and again you can include them with your higher paying writing projects.
-
Step 5
I'm giving you my regular method and schedule that works: therefore you are not being given advice that may work or possibly works--it does work as I use it every day. When you are writing your keyword combo articles you'll want to set up first a schedule for the day. You see I come from the old school when they used to have typewriters and clunky computers in the office however everywhere I worked we seemed to always hammer out a great deal of work therefore I've just applied the same strategy however modified as to use on the net.
-
Step 6
One thing you must get over and where I have the advantage over my young friends is that I know due to age and experience not treat the Internet like it is some type of magic cash machine where you don't have to employ any effort. I know some youngsters have it worked out that way however if you haven't been able to figure out the secret of it all you might as well just start by "doing." Use my old-fashioned methodologies adjusted to the new concept and they'll work well too. Also your mind will still be challenged. Here is how I start my day: I generally, pull my article titles which are usually my keyword combos too and I research on the keyword combos. For example, my first title of the day was How can I get free iTunes for my Ipod? You needn't act like a rocket scientist as to your approach: Simply type the question in Google or the keywords you've been provided and see what comes up. I take notes from several source sites and one source may be a popular article directory. I write my notes dropping all the vowels however stay cognizant enough in my note-taking to not get so sloppy that I forget what is meant by the shorntened version of the word I've written. You will find you can note take articles in around fifteen minutes per article once you become proficient.
-
Step 7
I generally do this for two hours every morning and compare it to the time(s) when I use to take dictation as I use to be a secretary in a former life. Sounds so retro now -- doesn't it? Once I've taken my dropped vowel dictation, I then construct the article from my shorthand notes. This I compare to typing correspondence after taking shorthand notes. Again, I've borrowed this method from the ancient past. I give myself another two hours to construct my articles and I keep in mind as I'm typing to properly incorporate keywords into my articles: As you can imagine this will keep your mind plenty busy and you will not have much time to daydream or think about what you might have for dinner later.
-
Step 8
I watch the time on the bottom right of my computer and then once two hours are up, I stop and start proofing what I've typed. You should first spell-check everything as that is fairly easy and then read the text you've typed for readability.
-
Step 9
If I have time to spare, I'll continue to type from my notes or I go back to note-taking. However, I usually find I haven't been able to type all my articles in one setting so I generally finish the articles I've yet to type.
-
Step 10
My schedule with regard to writing batch articles looks generally as follows:
1) Note taking 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
2) Article construction at the Computer 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
3) Editing: Spell-check and read through of each article 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
4) Lunch: 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
5) Article construction or note-taking continued 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
6) Edit remaining articles, invoice client or work on long term projects 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. -
Step 11
The schedule is just a suggestion. The idea I'm trying to get across to you is the Internet is terribly distracting so use it for research once you have attained your writing project and stick to a schedule.
