Tips & Warnings
Low ambient humidity discourages the growth of mold and fungus. Consider installing a dehumidifier in your apartment; these are mobile, small and relatively cheap. An air conditioner can also keep humidity down, but it is less efficient.
While shower sprays and other chemical anti-fungal agents can help keep your apartment clear of mold and fungi, vinegar is cheaper, works extremely well and is organic and biodegradable.
Do not use bleach! Bleach is toxic to humans and pets, releases toxic chemicals into the air and reacts with acids to emit dangerous fumes. Vinegar is just as effective, yet non-toxic.
