Mounting curtain tiebacks to a wall next to a window can add a touch of character to any room. 1
Measure the height of the curtain panels. Curtain tiebacks are generally mounted to the wall two-thirds of the way down from the top of the curtain. Multiply this measurement by 0.67. If the curtain panel is 84 inches tall, for example, the recommended height to mount the curtain tiebacks is 56 inches down from the top of the panel.
-
2
Measure 56 inches down from the top of the curtain panel on both sides of the window, and mark the position on the wall.
-
-
3
Decide where you would like to position the tiebacks on the wall, away from the window---either behind the curtain panel or away from the edge of the curtain panel so the tiebacks will remain visible when not in use. Hold the tieback in position on the wall and mark the position of the fastener hole on the wall.
-
4
Drill holes in the wall where the fasteners will penetrate. Place plastic drywall anchors into the holes.
-
5
Place the tieback in place over the holes and screw the fasteners into the anchors until they are tight. Repeat the process for the bracket on the other side of the window.
