How to Delete AVG Antivirus Program

AVG Antivirus is an application that includes anti-spyware and antivirus programs as well as a firewall to defend a PC from outside attacks. If you have tried AVG and wish to uninstall it from your computer, you can use the "Add/Remove Programs" feature of the Windows operating systems for the removal. However, if you have experienced a problem removing this program and AVG is still present, you will have to download and execute the AVG installer file.

Instructions

Add/Remove Programs

1. Go to the "Start" menu and click on "Control Panel."

2. Double-click the "Add/Remove Programs" icon (just "Programs" in Vista) and then scroll down to find AVG Antivirus.

3. Click on the program icon in the list and then click on the "Remove" button.

4. Follow step-by-step instructions of the Installation Wizard to complete the removal.

AVG Uninstaller

1. Go to the "AVG Installer File" website (in the Reference section) to download the AVG installer file.

2. Click on "Get New AVG Internet Security" button and then on "Save" to confirm the download.

3. Double-click the saved file and then click on "Yes" to confirm execution.

4. Follow the step-by-step instructions of the Installation Wizard to install the software, run the initial scan and check the status of the existing AVG.

5. Click on the "Uninstall Product" option and then on "Next" in the "Select Setup Type" window.

6. Click on "Finish" once the uninstall has been completed.
