How to Clean Mold from Wicker Furniture
Wicker furniture is a popular choice for outdoor seating and decorating. Although it is very durable, wicker is susceptible to mold due to the moisture and heat outdoors. Things You'll Need
- Bleach
- Dish soap
- Bucket
- Soft scrub brush
- Garden hose
- Cotton swab
- Toothbrush
- White distilled vinegar
- Spray bottle
- Damp rag

Mix a solution of 1 part bleach and 9 parts warm water in a bucket. Add a few drops of dish soap.

Dip a soft scrub brush into the bucket, then scrub the moldy areas of the wicker furniture. Depending on how severe the mold is, you may need to allow the bleach solution to soak into the wicker for a while.

Rinse the wicker furniture thoroughly by spraying it with water from a garden hose.

Place the furniture in a shady area to dry. Allow it to dry for several days before using it, or the wicker strands will become stretched out.

Dab full-strength bleach on remaining mold spots with a cotton swab once the wicker has dried. You can also scrub the mold spots with a toothbrush.

Rinse the bleach from the furniture and allow it to dry.

Pour undiluted white distilled vinegar into a spray bottle and spray the wicker furniture if you would prefer not to use bleach. Allow the vinegar to soak into the furniture for a minimum of one hour.

Wipe away the vinegar with a rag dampened by clean water. Allow the furniture to dry in a shady area.
