How to Block the Caller ID for Private Calls

Blocking the caller ID feature of home and cell phones is an easy thing to do. This is useful for placing calls to phones that you don't wish to be able to retain your phone number. Your cell phone company will still retain the data of your call, but the party you call cannot access your number.

Instructions

1. Close out of all open programs on your cell phone.

2. Use the number pad to enter " *67. " If you are using a landline phone rather than a cell phone, simply pick up the phone and enter "*67."

3. Enter the number of the party you wish to call.

4. Press the dial button. Your call will now be dialed and the recipient's phone will show either "Restricted access" or "Private call" in the caller ID box. Your phone number will not be accessible to them, and they will be unable to place a callback.
