Most kitchen faucets are made of chrome, which you can make shine like new. If your kitchen faucet has a different finish, it is advisable that you follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning. Do not use an abrasive cleanser on your kitchen faucet as such cleaners will scratch and dull the finish. You can use cleaning solutions that will make your kitchen faucet shine like new with only a few minutes of work.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Dampen a paper towel, and add a little dish soap to it. Scrub your kitchen faucet with this mild soap and water solution, and wipe your faucet with a paper towl soaked in plain water to remove the soap from the faucet.

  2. Step 2

Buff your faucet with a terry cloth. In many cases your faucet will be as shinny as if it were brand new. If there are still spots on your faucet or if the finish still appears somewhat dull, then proceed to step 3.

  3. Step 3

Soak one or more paper towels with white vinegar, and wrap them around your kitchen faucet so the vinegar comes in direct contact with the metal. Leave the vinegar-soaked paper towels on your faucet for 10 minutes.

  4. Step 4

Remove the vinegar-soaked paper towers from your faucet, and wipe your faucet with paper towels soaked in plain water to remove all the vinegar.

  5. Step 5

Buff your faucet with a clean dry terry cloth. Wipe a few drops of baby oil on your faucet with a clean cloth to not only add a shine but also to protect your faucet from water spots. Not only will your chrome kitchen faucet shine like new, but the white vinegar also will have disinfected your faucet.

Tips & Warnings
  • Frequently buffing water spots from your kitchen faucet with a terry cloth will keep it looking new longer and will reduce the amount of time you will need to spend doing a thorough cleaning of your faucet.
