How to Check the Oil on Toro Lawn Mowers
As with car engines, lawn mower engines need oil to lubricate the engine parts and keep the engine from breaking down. Many lawn mower owners neglect the upkeep of their mower and do not regularly check the oil. If there is not enough oil in the engine, the engine could heat up and eventually seize. Extend the life of your Toro lawn mower engine by regularly checking the oil level. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Place the mower on a level area and unscrew the oil dipstick on the top of the mower engine.

2
Pull the dipstick out of the engine and wipe off the oil with the rag. The oil may shift when you move the lawnmower and give you a false reading if you read the oil level when you first pull out the dipstick.

3
Reinsert the dipstick and pull it out of the mower engine. Look at the oil level reading.
-
4
Add oil to the mower if the oil mark is below the "Add" line on the dipstick.
