Instructions

    • 1

Cool the oil in your deep fryer. If you have just used it, it may take several hours before the oil has cooled completely. Trying to move hot oil can lead to painful burns.

    • 2

Put on your gloves. While it will not hurt you to move cool oil, it can become quite messy. Removing solidified oil from your hands can be a time consuming process.

    • 3

Take the lid off your coffee tin and scoop the solidified oil into it. Continue to scoop until all oil is removed from the deep fryer.

    • 4

Wad a paper towel into a ball and hold in the palm of your hand.

    • 5

Run the paper towel along the inside of your deep fryer to remove any remaining oil sticking to the sides.

    • 6

Throw the paper towels into the coffee tin when you are done, and put the lid back on the coffee tin. Throw the coffee tin into the trash as you normally would.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can use an empty 2 liter soda bottle if you don't have a coffee tin. Just cut the top off of the bottle and place it in a separate garbage bag before you throw it out.

  • Moving hot oil can lead to serious burns.
