How to Kill Poison Ivy Weeds

Poison ivy can be an itchy, rash-causing menace for you and you loved ones. The best way to prevent poison ivy from spreading is to eliminate the plant. With a few tips, you can concoct a spay to kill poison ivy and prevent its regrowth.

  • Orange oil
  • 1 gallon bottle of 20 percent vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon of liquid soap

Instructions

      Mix 1/2 cup of orange oil into a 1-gallon bottle of 20 percent vinegar.

      Add in a teaspoon of liquid soap and shake the bottle well.

      Transfer the mixture into a spray bottle

      Spray the mixture on the root of the poison ivy bush leaves. You will notice other plants near the ivy dying, if the mixture comes in contact with them.

      Check back on the ivy bush to see if it grows back. If so, spray it with the mixture again to eliminate it for good. You will not see regrowth of poison ivy after the second spray, as it will have penetrated the root and spoiled the earth in that area for all plants.

  • Be careful when spraying, since this mixture can kill other nearby plants if it lands on them.
