How to Rename PDF Files in a Folder

Locate the folder that contains the PDF file you want to rename. Most users save their documents and files in the My Documents folder. If this is where you have saved your PDF files, the My Documents folder should be located on the computer desktop. Double-click the folder. All the documents located in the folder are displayed. Find the PDF file you are renaming.

Right-click on top of the PDF file. Right-clicking displays a sub-menu. Choose the "Rename" option located near the bottom of the sub-menu. This will highlight the current name of your file.

Type the new name. Once you are satisfied, press the "Enter" key on your keyboard. If you enter invalid characters, such as "?" or "<", you will get an error message that states the action is not allowed. The file name change will take immediately. Restarting your PC is not necessary. Your PDF file has now been successfully renamed.
