How to Work a HP Photosmart Printer 7660
Produced in 2003, the HP Photosmart 7660 was originally intended for use by consumers looking to produce photo-quality prints of digital images. Compatible with both Windows and Macintosh computers, the Photosmart 7660 features a maximum print resolution of 4800 x 1200 (color), two USB ports, four memory card slots and support for a range of print media, including transparencies and labels. The Photosmart 7660 is designed for use with or without a computer and operation is very straightforward.

Windows Printing

Open the "File" menu and select the option labeled "Print." Enter the pages you wish to print and the number of copies you wish to make in the appropriate fields.

Click the button labeled "Properties" or "Preferences." Make any desired adjustments to paper size and print quality. Click "OK."

Click "OK" or "Print" to begin printing your document.
Macintosh Printing

Open the "File" menu and select the option labeled "Page Setup." Open the menu labeled "Format for" and select the option labeled "photosmart 7600 series."

Make any desired adjustments to paper size, orientation and document magnification and click "OK."

Open the "File" menu and select the option labeled "Print." Enter the pages you wish to print and number of copies you wish to make in the appropriate fields.

Click "OK" or "Print" to begin printing your document.
Memory Cards

Open the input bay door (located in the upper-right corner of the printer) and insert your memory card into the appropriate slot.

Press the "Select Photos" button (the horizontal, rectangular button located beneath the LCD display) to choose which photos you wish to print. Press the "OK" button (the first of the bottom three buttons on the control panel) after each selection.

Press the "OK" button and review the information displayed on the LCD display; if the information is incorrect, press the "Cancel" button (the third of the bottom three buttons on the control panel).

Press the "Print" button (the second of the bottom three buttons on the control panel) to begin printing.

Tips & Warnings
If your computer does not have the necessary print software installed, you can download an installer program directly from the HP website.
If you only wish to print the newest photos saved on a memory card, press the "Print New Photos" button located to the right of the power button.
Do not attempt to force a memory card into the printer. If the card does not fit, remove it and confirm you have the card properly aligned with the correct slot.
