How to Dry Wedding Flowers
Wedding flowers are a big part of an even bigger day. A bride carries wedding flowers down the aisle as her groom awaits her hand in marriage. Save your wedding flowers by drying them. A few fairly simple steps will ensure your bouquet is something to enjoy for many years to come. Don't simply rely on photographs to recall memories of your wedding day.
Things You'll Need
- Scissors
- Paring knife
- Floral wire

1
Disassemble the bridal bouquet very carefully. Unwrap any floral tape or bindings and set aside any lace, fabric or already dried flowers.
-
2
Separate each of the stems from one another. If any of the stems have become soft or mushy, cut the bloom at that place on the stem with scissors, or carve out the portion that has become soft with a paring knife and discard.

3
Cut about a quarter to a half inch of stem off the remaining flowers using scissors. Gather the flowers together and tie with twine about 3/4 of the way toward the bottom of the stems.
-
4
Hang the bouquet upside down from a clothesline or taut wire that has been strung in a dry room within your home. Affix the bouquet to the clothesline or wire using floral wire.
-
5
Leave the wedding flowers upside down to dry for several weeks. You will know they are ready to be removed from their upside down state when you touch them gently and they feel dry but firm. If the petals want to fall off abruptly, they haven't dried long enough.
