How to Clean the Outside of a Garage Door
Weather can wreak havoc on your home. Dirt and debris slam against the house, creating a large mess. You garage door is helpful for keep filth, water and rubbish from entering the garage. Typically, garages are useful to store personal items, furniture or vehicles. Muck and grime can damage the door by creating dents and harming the seal that keeps rain or snow from seeping in. Open the garage door slightly. Lay the plastic down underneath the doorway. Most of the plastic should be on the outside driveway and grass. Shut the door. The door will hold the plastic in place. The plastic will keep dirt and debris from splashing into the clean garage.

Attach the hose-end cleaning formula to the hose. Products such as Mold Armor House Wash or Chomp Total House Cleaner are available from home improvement stores. Tightly screw onto the hose.

Spray the garage door with a sweeping movement. Shift the stream to the corners and the bottom of the door. Soak and wait three minutes before continuing.

Scrub the garage door with the rag mop. Clean with a back-and-forth motion. Scour inside the corners and other nooks. Pay close attention to the major dirt areas and between the grooves. Rinse the mop and repeat cleaning.

Switch the nozzle to water and rinse the garage door. Sweep the hose as water hits the door, starting at the top and moving downward. The dirt will roll down the garage to the plastic tarp.

Spray the window cleaner on the garage door windows. Immediately wipe the cleaner off with the clean cloth. Rub in circles. Dry with the second soft cloth. Wipe in rows from left to right down the windows.

Raise the door. Steadily pull the plastic out. If you pull to fast, water may seep into the garage. Shut the garage and allow the door to dry.
