How to Remove Fake Acrylic Nails Yourself

Want to remove your acrylic nails? Fake nails look great. That is, until they start to chip and come off. Then it's time to get rid of those things. But removing acrylic nails can be tough. Here is a step by step guide on how to remove acrylic nails easily.

Things You'll Need

• Acetone
• Nail clippers
• Paper towel
• Scotch tape
• Scouring pad
• Lotion

Instructions

1. Using a fingernail clippers, cut your fake nails down as low as you possible without damaging your real nails. This will make removing them later a littler easier.

2. Cut and fold pieces of paper towel so that they are about the size of your fingernail and a half inch thick. You should have 10 total. One for each nail.

3. Dip each of your paper towel sections into acetone. Acetone can be found at your local hardware store in the painting section.
   It will come in a metal tin usually.

4. Tape each piece of towel firmly against each acrylic nail with a piece a scotch tape. Let the acetone dissolve the adhesive for about 15 minutes.

5. Remove the nails and scrap any excess adhesive off with a kitchen scouring pad.

6. Moisture your nails and fingertips with an intensive healing lotion. Acetone will severely dry out your skin if left untreated.
