Cayenne Tincture can be a remarkable tool towards better health. Keep reading to learn how to mix up your own batch to have on hand.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fresh Cayenne Peppers
  • 100 Proof Vodka
  1. Step 1

Fresh Cayenne peppers work best for this. The hotter the better. Cut the peppers in half and pull a string through them to let them hang and dry.

  2. Step 2

When the peppers are completely dry they need to be ground up in a powder. Add the powder in a quart mason jar to about 1/4 and add some 100 proof vodka in the jar, enough to submerge the cayenne powder totally until the mixture looks like applesauce. Add more vodka to about 3/4 full. Put on a tight fitting lid and give the jar a good shaking.

  3. Step 3

Store the jar in a dark area shaking it once a day. It is best to make the tincture during a new moon and best to let it sit until the next new moon, about 28 days or so. Then you strain the liquid through an unbleached coffee filter and bottle up the cayenne tincture in small dark colored bottles with the squeeze dropper tops.

Tips & Warnings
  • Start the cayenne tincture during a new moon.
  • It is best to use fresh peppers, the hotter the better but cayenne powder can be substituted.
  • Always consult your doctor when planning to use any type of health related substances.
