Balance Oily Facial Skin

The Good: Oily facial skin is less prone to wrinkling, or other signs of aging, because the oil helps to keep needed moisture locked into the outermost layer of skin.

The Bad: Oily facial skin is especially susceptible to clogged pores, blackheads, and buildup of dead skin cells on the skin's surface.

The Balance: Though Oily facial skin may be inherited, there are still ways to balance it. Simply, apply the steps below! Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

      Drink Water
Water hydrates oily skin causing it to naturally balance. It also flushes toxins out of the body which results in less breakouts caused by bacteria. Drink 8 glasses or (4) 16oz bottles of water daily.

      Eat Healthier
Oily, fried, and bad fatty foods contribute to oilier facial skin. Foods that are healthy result in a healthier less oily complexion. Eat dark green vegetables, salmon, flaxseed, and avocado for a skin balancing boost!

      Wash Face Gently
Over washing and drying out your skin with cleanser is not the solution to oily facial skin. Harsh drying cleansers actually cause your skin to create more oil! It's our body's natural defense. The key to balancing oil production is using gentle face cleansers, lotions, and makeup that provide just enough moisture to keep skin balanced. Johnson&Johnson Purpose Cleanser, Neutrogena Fresh foaming Cleanser, and Cetaphil are excellent gentle cleanser choices.

      Moisturize
Use a very light moisturizer created for oily skin. If your skin is extremely oily, use a alcohol free toner instead. This will hydrate the skin just enough to give your face a clean, moisturized and balanced feeling.
