Things You'll Need:
- Board Games
- Construction Paper
- Glue
- Markers
- Outside seating for guests
-
Step 1
Encourage each family member coming to the Thanksgiving celebration to bring a food item or dish to Thanksgiving that means something to them. It can be a dish they love to cook, love to eat, or a combination of the two. During the meal give each guest a chance to explain why they brought their food item. This is sure to be an interesting and exciting conversation.
-
Step 2
After the Thanksgiving meal, gather your family and friends around a central area to play a fun board game. Trivial Pursuit and Apples to Apples are both terrific games to play with a large amount of people. If you are playing a game that requires teams, put every person's name in a hat and draw for teams. This will help mix up guests so they have a chance to socialize with family members they don't see very often.
-
Step 3
If the weather is good outside, prepare tables for family members to sit outside. This will help remove the feelings of being cooped up inside all day. It will help family members feel more at home, and who knows a lot of fun might happen at the outside tables!
-
Step 4
Create an activity children will like to do. Provide craft materials for children such as crayons, glue, scissors, markers, and construction paper. Often times adults will see the kids having fun, and they will want to join in with them. This is a great way for family members to bond!
