One of the problems people have are corns and calluses on their feet. There are 2 kinds of corns hard and soft corns. They can be found on the tops of the toes or on the outside of the foot. Corns can form under a callus on the ball of the foot and be very painful. Here are some ideas to treat corns.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The first thing to do is consult with a podiatrist or foot doctor. If you decide to treat them yourself there are several remedies you can do at home. You need to take a look at your shoes and see why they don't fit properly. If your shoes are the wrong size they can cause you to have a corn or callus when your foot rubs on the side of the shoe. Make sure to trim your toenails. Cut each toenail straight across so it does not extend beyond the front of your toe.

  2. Step 2

If you are having pain from the corns you can soak your feet in a solution of Epson salts and warm water. You can then wrap the corn in a bag of ice and after an hour or so rub the corn with a pumice stone. You can cut the corn or callus but this can lead to infections so its not advisable. You can go to the local drug store and get some pads that are made for corns, this will help protect the area when you are wearing shoes. When you have corns between the toes put some cotton or soft pads there and sprinkle on some baby power to help keep the area dry.

  3. Step 3

Another thing you can do is soak your feet in chamomile tea This will give you some relief but make sure to wash with soap and water afterwards. If you decide to buy a corn remover make sure to buy salicylic acid it is the only remover available over the counter. Follow the directions carefully and only apply it to the corn or callus. You should always check with your doctor before using any of these products on your own. If after 2 weeks the hard corn is still there ,discontinue and go to the doctor.

  4. Step 4

Another home remedy is to take 6 crushed aspirin tablets and one teaspoon of lemon juice and mix them together. Apple the paste on the callus and put a plastic bag on your foot. Them wrap a warm towel around the plastic bag. Wait 10 or 15 minutes and remove the bag and towel. Now gently rub the callus with a pumice stone.
