How to Remove Tea Stains From Fabric

Have you ever sat down to enjoy a relaxing cup of warm tea or a cool glass of iced tea, only to spill it on yourself? A brief second of clumsiness can leave a permanent tea stain on clothing (or carpet and furniture as well). Luckily, tea doesn't have to leave a permanent stain if you handle the clothing quickly and with the right cleaning techniques.

Things You'll Need

• Water
• Rag or sponge
• Basin
• Pre-wash stain remover
• Laundry detergent
• Washing Machine
• Bleach

Instructions

1. Remove the item of clothing immediately if possible and soak it for 30 minutes in a basin filled with cool water. If you can't remove the clothing, dip a rag or sponge into cool water and apply it to the stain.

2. Apply pre-wash stain remover to the area. If you don't have this, use a few drops of laundry detergent mixed with water.

3. Rub the fabric together in the stained area once you've applied the spot treatment.

4. Wash the clothing in cool water with regular laundry detergent.

5. Add chlorine bleach if the item is white and color safe bleach if it the clothing has color.
