How to Make a Boot CD for Win XP
You don't need to be helpless when your computer crashes. Even during the worst software failure possible, your computer's hardware is probably working just fine. In cases like that it's good to have a boot CD around---that is, a CD which can boot an entire operating system. Windows does not come in that form for consumers. But Bart PE, a free product, can turn a Windows XP installation CD into a Windows boot CD.
Things You'll Need
- Internet access
- A retail copy of Windows XP (separate from the one you use on your computer)
- Blank CD
- CD burner

Tips & Warnings
For legal reasons, you cannot use the copy of Windows currently installed on your computer for making a boot CD. Purchase a separate retail copy before doing this.
