How to Space Tabs on Curtains
Tabs are an easy way to dress up ordinary curtains. Tabs can have buttons attached to look like the buttons are functional but are merely decorative. Pink curtains for a girl's room with fancy white buttons on tabs look feminine. Solid blue curtains with bright red buttons are more masculine and work well for a boy's room. You can also make tabs from wide decorative trim to add a touch of elegance, and use the same trim for a tieback. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Purchase fabric that is 1½ times the width of the window. Allow for side seams when making the purchase.
-
2
Complete the sewing of the curtain panel except for the placement of the tabs.
-
-
3
Lay the panel on a flat surface.
-
4
Measure the width of the panel.
-
5
Divide the width of the panel by 8, which is the average distance between tabs, but you can make adjustments to get an even distribution of the tabs. A 36-inch panel calculates to 4½ tabs, so use 5 tabs rather than 4.
-
6
Attach one tab to each end of the curtain panel.
-
7
Sew the tabs to the curtain panel.
