How to Install an Easy Set Swimming Pool
The Intex Recreation Corp.'s Easy Set line of portable quick-fill swimming pools offers users the ability to enjoy a cool respite from summer heat without the hassle of owning and maintaining a large, bulky or complexly designed in-ground or professionally built above-ground pool. Easy Set pools range in size from 8 to 18 feet in diameter and hold approximately 640 to more than 5,000 gallons of water. With the appropriate setup spot, preparation and attention to details during setup, you can easily install your Easy Set swimming pool.
Things You'll Need
- Tarp (size of pool bottom)
- Electric power source (optional)
- Intex manual inflation hand pump
Instructions

1
Locate a flat, level spot (pavement or packed dirt) clear of debris (stumps, leaves, rocks, twigs or branches) that has an area nearby where you can later drain the pool water. Although a flat, level grassy spot also works well, certain types of grass have hard/stiff blades that can grow through a pool liner.
-
2
Lay the tarp or, if included, ground cloth on the spot confirming that at least 4 feet of clear space exists around the area to protect against small children climbing on nearby objects and accessing the pool/possibly drowning.
-
-
3
Position the rolled pool liner over the spot with the pool's drain valve pointed toward your pre-selected drain area. Unroll the liner extending the top ring beyond the wall line and smoothing out any wrinkles on the blue bottom (base). If you have an Intex Krystal Clear filter-pump, position the pool so that any openings or hose connection point toward an electrical source.
-
4
Inflate the top ring at the air valve with your Intex manual inflation hand pump. If your ring doesn't inflate, check the valve for leaks. Check the entire ring for leakage by rubbing liquid soap along the seams and looking for air bubbles.
-
5
Seal the black filter pump outlets with the included plugs if you don't have a filter-pump. If you have a filter-pump, install your pump by attaching the hoses to the outlets.
-
6
Tighten the drain cap on the outside of your pool and check that you have a closed drain plug inside.
-
7
Fill the pool with water slowly. Smooth out any remaining wrinkles in the bottom from inside the pool or reach under the pool and gently tug to pull the wrinkles away.
-
8
Continue filling your pool until the water reaches bottom of the inflated ring to finish the installation. Turn on your filter pump if you have one.

Tips & Warnings
If fill water doesn't appear level at one inch deep, or one side of the pool has a bulge, start over in a different spot.
Never set up your pool on unstable ground (sand, mud, loose soil or gravel), an incline or an elevated attachment, such as balconies or decks, as the pool can shift or collapse, possibly causing property damage or injury to you or others.
Always use tarp or ground cloth to protect your pool from rough surfaces, rocks or sharp objects.
Never use an air compressor to fill the top ring as over inflation can burst the ring.
