Step 1
Start off by purchasing a good quality and trusted name brand disposable razor, available from any drug store or pharmacy. You might want to experiment with Gillette or Venus to start with. Although these razors will initially cost more than the store brand razors, just starting out with these higher quality razors will ensure that your disposable razor lasts as long as possible.

Step 2
Don't dry shave. This will dull your razor quickly. Use a good soapy lather and warm water when you shave. You should also soak the hair in warm water to soften it prior to shaving. Rinse your razor often in clear water during your shave, in order to remove hair from the razor, and ensure that the razor remains at its peak performance.

Step 3
Dry your razor immediately when you have finished shaving. This will help prevent your razor from rusting, which will prematurely end the razor's life, if permitted to rust. After your razor has been rinsed and dried, replace the safety cap back on the razor to protect the razor blades from cutting something that they shouldn't cut, and to prevent dulling. Store your razor in a clean, dry location, such as your medicine cabinet.
