How to Use a Decosonic Convection Roaster

A Decosonic convection roaster, also known as a convection oven, is a table or countertop appliance that easily replaces a conventional oven for cooking everyday meals. The Decosonic claims to cook food 20 to 60 percent faster than a conventional oven and offers practically fat-free cooking. Any food that can be cooked in a traditional oven can be prepared in the Decosonic and with the addition of the optional extender ring, it can handle a small turkey or a prime rib roast. Instructions

    • 1

Download the user's manual for your oven if you have misplaced your copy or you have purchased the oven without a manual. A link to the manual can be found in the Resource section below.

    • 2

Assemble your roaster by placing the glass bowl into the base. Place the power head securely over the top of the oven bowl. Plug the machine into an electrical outlet and turn the heat on the roaster to 480 degrees Fahrenheit. Allow the unit to cook for five minutes. This will remove any remaining lubricants from the manufacturing process.

    • 3

Thoroughly wash the roaster before the first use. All parts of the Decosonic are dishwasher safe, except for the power head. Then clean the power head, wipe with a damp, soapy sponge, rinse the sponge until clean and wipe the power head a second time.

    • 4

Re-assemble the Decosonic for the type of meal you plan to cook. Use the low rack for whole chickens and roasts. Add the high rack to cook potatoes or other vegetables while the meat is cooking. Use the steamer basket to seam vegetables or fish in the oven.

    • 5

Arrange foods on the trays so that air can flow around the different foods. This allows the Decosonic to cook the foods faster. Crowded foods will take longer to cook.

Tips & Warnings

  • Always cook foods at the temperature and times that the manual suggests. As you become more experienced with the Decosonic, you can experiment with foods not listed in the recipe section of the manual.

  • Ensure that you have at least three inches of empty space around the outside of the oven on your table or countertop.

  • To insure doneness of meats cooked in the roaster, rely on a good meat thermometer.

  • To help prevent foods from sticking to the sides of the oven or the racks, spray the entire interior of the glass oven and the racks with non-stick spray before cooking.
