  • Miter Saw
  • Carbide tipped saw blade
  • Medium Grit Sandpaper

      Measure the tubing with the tape measure and mark where you need to cut.

      Install the carbide tipped blade into the miter saw by unscrewing the mounting bolt in the middle of the stock blade, removing it, and replacing with the new blade.

      Place the tubing in the miter saws cutting cage and securely mount it with the mounting clamps.

      Pull the trigger on the miter saw to start the blade turning and then slowly bring the saw down through the tubing.

      Take the tubing out of the cutting cage and use the sandpaper to buff any rough edges off of the end of the tubing that you cut.

  • Always wear gloves and safety goggles when cutting steel tubing to prevent sparks and metal shavings from getting in your eyes.

    I understand there is a simple technique to mark a round steel vertical post such that the rail, to be welded on top, will make a perfect fit. Both post and rail are the same diameter.
