Instructions

1
Purchase ready-made Dora invitations from a party store, greeting card store or online and mail them to the guests.
-
2
Purchase Dora-themed paper plates, cups, napkins and decorations from a party supplier. Use purple, orange and yellow balloons and streamers. Have the birthday child color some coloring pages and hang them around the party room.
-
-
3
Play Pass the Backpack. Sit the children in a circle on the floor. Pass a Dora backpack as you would a potato in the game hot potato. Play music and when the music stops the child holding the backpack leaves the circle.
-
4
Play Musical Circle of Friends. Find free Dora images online and print or use coloring book pages of Dora characters. Make sure you have as many images as you have party guests. Glue each image to a paper plate. Write the name of each character on a piece of paper, fold and put into a backpack. Hand out character plates to the children and instruct them to put their plates in a circle on the floor. Have the kids walk in a circle around the plates while you play Dora's theme song. Instruct them to stand on a plate when the music stops. Stop the music randomly and pull a name out of the backpack. Call out the name. The person standing on that character takes their plate and leaves the circle. Keep playing until one last player remains.

5
Make Dora friendship bracelets with a friendship bracelet kit from the craft store. Give to guests as game prizes and party favors. Other prizes and favor gift ideas include Dora stickers, Dora temporary tattoos, Dora fruit snacks and Dora animal crackers.
-
6
Write and draw map directions from the party room to the place where you have hidden the cake on plain paper and roll up like a scroll. Tie with ribbon and draw a face like the character of Map's. Tell the guests that Swiper has stolen the cake and they must follow Map to find it. When they find the cake, it is time to eat it.
-
7
Serve quesadillas and nachos. Set up ingredients and topping so kids can make their own tacos. Add standard kid fare such as macaroni and cheese or pizza for guests who may not like Mexican food. Make Boots' banana splits to go alongside the cake.
-
8
Purchase a Dora-themed cake from a bakery that sells character cakes or bake a sheet cake and decorate with Dora candles.
-
9
Buy a Dora pinata from the party supplier. Hand out empty treat bags for kids to fill with the candy they collect.
