How to Use KitchenAid Juicers

Making your own fruit juice at home is healthier than buying it. Homemade juice is free of extra sugars and preservatives, unlike commercial juices. However, hand juicers can be difficult to use, especially for those with wrist and hand disabilities. Electric juicers are a good alternative to hand juicers, being efficient and requiring little strength or skill. The KitchenAid juicer attachment is one of the most popular electric juicers.

Things You'll Need

• KitchenAid stand mixer
• KitchenAid juicer attachment
• Knife
• Large measuring cup
• Citrus fruits

Instructions

1. Remove the metal pin from the knob on the front of your stand mixer and lift the metal flap. Fit the juicer attachment, with the point facing down, into the hole and let the metal flap rest on the back of the attachment. Slide the pin into the knob so it holds the attachment in place.

2. Place a large measuring cup directly below the pointed end of the attachment. Wash several citrus fruits of your choice and slice them in half.

3. Press half of a citrus fruit against the ridged juicing cone. Turn the mixer on low and hold the fruit firmly against the cone. Push the fruit into the cone slowly. Juice should squeeze out of the fruit and flow into the measuring cup.

Tips & Warnings

• Strain juice before drinking to get rid of seeds and excess pulp.
