Diaper wishing wells are decorative containers in which you can put written blessings for a newborn or unborn baby. They are popular baby shower decorations and can be incorporated into the party as an event or game. You can also give diaper wishing wells as presents, placing baby items inside for the mother-to-be.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Buy a small, round laundry basket with slits in the side. Roll each diaper and wrap a rubber band around it to hold it in a rolled shape.

  2. Step 2

Cover the outside of the basket with the diapers. Tie them to the slits in the basket using the wired ribbon.

  3. Step 3

Stick the foam pool noodle inside the basket, bend it in half so it forms a handle. Use the twist ties to secure the noodle to the slits in the basket.

  4. Step 4

Create a roof for the wishing well. Cut a square of cardboard slightly larger than the size of the top of the basket to form the base of the roof. Then cut two more pieces of cardboard that are identical in size to each other for the roof. Using the hot glue gun, glue the base of the roof on top of the foam pool noodle handle. Then angle the two "roof" cardboard pieces and glue them onto the base to complete the roof.

  5. Step 5

Create the well rod. Use the razor blade to make a slit in the foam noodle and insert the dowel rod into the slit. Make another slit on the opposite side of the noodle, so that it lines up horizontally with the first slit, and slide the other end of the dowel rod into that slit. Hang a sippy cup or other baby cup from the rod.

  6. Step 6

Glue the bubble wrap on the inside of the laundry basket to create a padded surface and to cover any holes left from the slits on the side of the laundry basket. Glue a piece of fabric over the bubble wrap if you want.

Tips & Warnings
  • Coordinate the color of the ribbon and fabric with the colors for the baby or shower's theme.
