Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the water supply to the kitchen faucet. The water shut-off valves are under the sink, inside the sink cabinet. Turn the shut-off valves counterclockwise to shut off the water supply.

    • 2

Use a small flathead screwdriver to remove the decorative cap that covers the set screw securing the single-handle faucet. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the set screw and lift the handle off of the faucet body.

    • 3

Use a wrench to remove the bonnet nut from the faucet body. Once the bonnet nut is removed look for the pin that secures the cartridge in place. Use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the pin and release the cartridge.

    • 4

Use a pair of pliers to remove the cartridge by pulling the cartridge straight up out of the faucet cavity. Take notice of the way the old cartridge comes out to make installation less time consuming. Take the old cartridge to the plumbing supply store or hardware store. Make sure that you purchase a cartridge that matches the existing cartridge.

    • 5

Insert the new cartridge into the faucet cavity. Make sure that the holes line up exactly as you pulled the old one out. If they are reversed your hot water will be cold and the cold water will be hot. You will have to take the faucet apart again to reverse the cartridge.

    • 6

Insert the retaining pin and gently tap it in with the handle of a screwdriver. Thread the bonnet nut back into the faucet cavity and tighten it with a wrench.

    • 7

Slide the faucet handle back over the cartridge and secure it using the set screw. Replace the decorative back by snapping it into place on the faucet handle. Turn the water valve back on to supply water to the kitchen faucet.
