Use a broom or vacuum to remove dust and debris from the wood floor. If you are using a vacuum, be sure to use the soft brush attachment to prevent causing any damage to the floor.

Fill a bucket with warm water. Add about one cup of white vinegar per gallon of water. If your floors are not very soiled, you can mop using nothing but water. Mop with the vinegar solution at least once a month.

Wet a soft mop in the bucket and squeeze out the excess water. Soaking your wood floors with water can cause damage.

Gently mop the floor, and be sure to absorb any excess water with a towel. Do not allow water to sit on wood floors, to prevent warping.
