Clean your black chalkboard, and keep it that way!

A black chalkboard is the world's worst at collecting chalk, and spreading it around the room. Left unattended, it always looks dirty.

Learn how to quickly clean your board and keep it clean. Easily rid your room of dust and chalk bits. Read on to learn the easiest way to clean a black chalkboard.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Vinegar
  • Water
  • WD 40
  1. Step 1

Wash your black chalkboard with 1/2 c. of water, 1/2 vinegar. The chalk dust remains on a chalkboard using just water. Water alone makes chalk appear smeared and smudged.

Use the water and vinegar mixture to wash the board down with a sponge or rag. The vinegar takes the chalk completely off the board.

  2. Step 2

    Dust the erasers.

Most of the chalk that you wash off the board gets right back onto it if you fail to dust the erasers. At least once a week, remove the dust from the erasers.

  3. Step 3

    Spray a rag with WD40.

The fish oil in the WD40 keeps your black chalkboard nice and shiny. It doesn't hurt the board or remove the paint.

Use WD40 once a week. Never spray it directly onto the black chalkboard, but on a rag. Then, use the rag to polish up the board.

  4. Step 4

Every other week, use a bit of soapy water to wash your erasers.

Felt takes a long time to dry, so it's best to wash them on a Friday, allowing them to dry over the weekend.

Don't submerge the erasers in the water. Instead, use a soapy washcloth to clean them. Removing the chalk particles from the erasers leaves them fresh and clean for your black chalkboard on Monday.
